How it Works

Creating a new commission starts with a free consultation and, ideally, a site or studio visit. Themes and budgets are discussed and often images or studies from past projects can be used as a starting point.

After an initial design deposit, I come up with designs and photo mock-ups.

Commissions

My pieces can be small table-top pieces or larger-than-life figures. I find myself making more and more large outdoor sculptures. I like the way my work interacts with a garden setting and changes with the light and the shadows outdoors, from morning to night and from season to season. Calculating how a sculpture will fit into someone’s environment is part of the creative process.

Sometimes it is as simple as taking an existing sculpture and changing the scale or creating a flatter wall mounted version. Sometimes we start with just an idea and create a Photoshop mockup to help clients visualize how the final sculpture will look in different scales or thickness of steel line.I’ve always enjoyed commissions. Ideally, half of my work is just things I want to create and the other half is creating a specific piece for clients. I enjoy working collaboratively with a client to create a unique piece such as a sculpture for a yard or a wall, a logo that captures the essence of a company or a personal gift.

All Outdoor Sculptures are natural brushed Stainless Steel or painted [powder coated] Stainless Steel. Past Commissions have ranged in price from $2500 to $25,000.
